These terms are subject to a binding arbitration provision and waiver of class action rights, as detailed in section 18 below.
You agree that aby claim or dispute at law or equity that has arisen or may arise pursuant to these terms or the access or use of the services, as defined below, will be resolved in accordance with relevant section below.
Please read that section carefully. It affects your legal rights and obligations.
These Terms of Use ("Terms") constitute a binding legal agreement between [Leia] (collectively referred to as "Leia," "we," "our," or "us") and you ("you" or "your"). These Terms govern your access to and use of all features, content, and services provided by Leia, including our website at https://www.leia.games ("Website") and gaming applications ("App(s)"; collectively, "Services"). References to "you" or "your" apply to anyone accessing or using the Services in any manner, including your heirs, assigns, and successors.
By creating an account, participating in competitions or tournaments, and using the Services, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and the applicable Frequently Asked Questions (the "FAQ"), each incorporated herein by reference. If you do not agree to these Terms, FAQ, or the Privacy Policy, you may not create an account or use the Services.
Use of our services
Leia’s Services include an online platform for skilled game challenges, Cash Competitions (as defined below), and cash tournaments, utilizing applications, tools, and services we may provide from time to time. Some features and competitions may require you to register with Leia and create an account by providing certain personal information. All competitions and tournaments offered through the Services are games of skill. Winners are determined based on the criteria outlined in the FAQ, which may include scoring and other relevant documentation. The individuals who effectively use their skills and knowledge to achieve the highest scores will be declared the winners. Leia employs skill matching to pair individuals in competitions. For more information about skill matching and its impact on gameplay, see here. The Services are not intended for gambling. By using Leia’s Services, you acknowledge that your participation is purely recreational and not part of any business endeavour, and you are not using it for gambling purposes.
Virtual items
The Services may offer opportunities to earn or obtain virtual in-game currency, including but not limited to virtual coins, points, credits, bonuses, collectibles, and chips ("Virtual Items"). These Virtual Items are licensed to you for personal use within the Services, subject to the limitations and terms outlined below. Virtual Items cannot be redeemed for real money, goods, or any other item of monetary value from Leia or any other party. You acknowledge that you have no ownership rights or property interest in the Virtual Items, or any attributes associated with your account stored within the Services. Acquiring Virtual Items is final and non-refundable, non-transferable, and not exchangeable, except at Leia's sole discretion. You may not transfer, purchase, sell, or exchange Virtual Items outside the Services or attempt to do so without Leia's written permission. Engaging in such activities is a violation of these Terms and may result in account termination and legal action against you. Aside from a limited, personal, revocable, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to use the Virtual Items within the Services, you hold no rights or titles to any Virtual Items or attributes associated with the Services. Leia reserves the right to manage, regulate, modify, and eliminate Virtual Items at its sole discretion, without liability to you. Prices and availability of Virtual Items are subject to change without notice, and Leia may selectively remove or revoke Virtual Items associated with your account. Virtual Items may only be held by legal residents of countries where access to and use of the Services are permitted. Virtual Items can only be earned or awarded from Leia or through authorized means within the Services. Purchases or transfers made outside the Services on other platforms are not recognized, and Leia is not liable for claims or damages related to Virtual Items obtained from third parties. You acknowledge that Leia is not required to provide refunds for any reason, and you will not receive compensation for unused Virtual Items when your account is closed, whether voluntarily or involuntarily. All Virtual Items are forfeited upon account termination or suspension at Leia's discretion, and no refunds or conversions to cash will be granted.
Winnings, Account Funds, Payments, and Prize Forfeiture
All fees and payments for Services that require such payments ("Fees") will be in USD or JPY and shall be disclosed to you prior to your entry into any competition or tournament. By entering a competition, you agree to pay the associated Fees, which must be prepaid and are non-refundable. You are fully responsible for all charges, deposits, and withdrawals made from your account, including any unauthorized transactions. We reserve the right to change the pricing of Services at any time, but any price changes will not affect past purchases.
You agree to pay the applicable Fees and taxes (if applicable) by using a valid credit card or another accepted payment method in line with the billing terms and prices in effect when the Fees are due. You must notify us of any billing issues or discrepancies within thirty (30) days of their appearance on your account statement; failure to do so will result in waiving your right to dispute those issues. You agree to reimburse us for all reversals, chargebacks, claims, fines, and other liabilities incurred as a result of authorized payments. If a charge you authorized cannot be processed, we may suspend or terminate your account, and you must provide an alternative payment method to settle outstanding charges. We may change Fees with or without notice. By providing a payment method, you: (i) affirm that you are authorized to use it and that your payment information is accurate; and (ii) authorize us to charge you for Services using your payment method. Billing may occur: (i) in advance; (ii) at the time of purchase; or (iii) shortly after purchase, at our discretion. If you believe you have been charged in error, you must inform us within thirty (30) days. We will investigate the charge, but if you do not contact us within that timeframe, we will not be liable for any losses resulting from the error. If we identify an error, we will correct it within ninety (90) days. You are responsible for all costs incurred to collect any overdue amounts, including reasonable attorney fees. If you enter a competition without depositing real money, you are considered a "Non-Cash Player." If you participate in a Cash Competition, you are a "Cash Player." As a Cash Player, you acknowledge that we may change our methods for calculating your balance or evaluating your funds, as well as withdrawal rules, at our discretion without prior notice. When requesting a withdrawal, you may need to provide updated information, including your full name, address, government-issued ID, phone number, and payment information. Failure to provide this information may prevent us from processing your withdrawal. Participation in Cash Competitions may require a positive account balance prior to entry. By submitting your information, you consent to us sharing your personal and payment details with third-party service providers for identity verification and transaction risk assessment, as outlined in our Privacy Policy. Withdrawals may only be processed through payment methods supported by Leia. If you make a credit card deposit, we may request authorization from the issuing bank. Please be aware that your personal accounts may incur additional fees for receiving funds from your Leia account, and we are not responsible for these fees, even if they exceed the withdrawn amount. Leia may allow you to withdraw funds either in cash or through alternative methods, such as coupons or gift cards offered by our partners.
If you are a Cash Player, we may, at our discretion, grant you free Bonus Funds and credits. These Bonus Funds can be used to enter Cash Competitions but cannot be withdrawn or used for other services. When entering a Cash Competition, we may deduct a portion of the Bonus Funds as an entry fee. If Bonus Funds are the only currency available in your account, they will be used for entry fees. Any Bonus Funds used for entry fees will be returned to you upon winning a Cash Competition, with additional winnings paid in the applicable currency. If you withdraw funds from your account, you will forfeit all Bonus Funds. If you do not enter a Cash Competition within ninety (90) consecutive days, all Bonus Funds in your account will be forfeited.
As a Cash Player, you may request a withdrawal from your available account balance at any time. Processing may take up to ninety (90) days; however, we may freeze your account or delay withdrawal requests pending investigations into reported abuse, fraud, or compliance with applicable laws.
Unless otherwise stated in the FAQ, you must claim your prize within sixty (60) days of winning. If you do not claim your prize within this time frame, Leia reserves the right to forfeit it at its discretion. If you forfeit a prize by failing to claim it, Leia has no further obligation and may award the prize to another player.
If you choose to close your account, any remaining funds will be forfeited. To withdraw funds before account closure, you must request it prior to termination. If we terminate your account due to fraud, illegal activity, or cheating (as determined at our discretion), any funds in your account may be forfeited.
If your account remains inactive (i.e., no competitions entered) for six (6) consecutive months, we reserve the right to charge a maintenance fee of $2.00 or the equivalent in your local currency per month. This fee will be deducted from your account for each consecutive month of inactivity but will not be deducted if your account balance is zero.
Unless otherwise required by law, all Fees are final and non-refundable.
If you are eligible for prizes, we may require proof of your eligibility at the time of participation in the competition. Failure to provide satisfactory proof will result in the forfeiture of your prize. If you receive a prize in error, we may reverse the award or require its return, and you agree to cooperate with us in this process. We may also adjust payments to you to account for any previous overpayments. Competition results and prize calculations are based on final statistics and scoring at the completion of the competition. Once results are reviewed and finalized, prizes will be awarded. Scoring results will not be changed due to any later adjustments or official statistics.
Skill Matching
Leia employs skill matching to pair players with others of similar skill levels. We aim to avoid mismatches, such as pairing beginners or intermediate players with experts, to ensure a more enjoyable experience for everyone. Skill levels are assessed separately for each game and are updated after each contest based on several factors, including:

The number of paid contests played.

Scores and outcomes from previous contests. If you outperform players of a similar skill level, we will increase your skill level or seek tougher competition, and vice versa.

Duration of time spent playing the specific game.

Performance in tournaments with varying entry fees.
As your skill level increases, the difficulty of your matchups may also rise. While your opponents may not have the exact same skill level as you, you may often compete against players with slightly higher or lower skills. Winning more contests may lead to increasingly challenging matchups. After your initial free tutorial games, you will only compete against human players in our contests. Leia’s games are regularly tested by an independent third party to ensure that human players are not matched with bots. You can find a copy of our current certification confirming that we do not match players with bots here. Our games are designed for entertainment and challenge, serving as enjoyable pastimes rather than reliable sources of income. While short-term success may occur, consistent winning is unlikely. Please note that you may be matched with opponents from different jurisdictions and using different currencies. This will not affect skill matching or the prizes available to you.
Device information
Accessing the Services requires an internet connection, and we may need to collect certain information from you and your internet-enabled device ("Device") to provide the Services, including hardware system profile data, internet connection data, and other relevant operational data from any Device that logs onto the Services using your account. We do not guarantee that our Services will be compatible with all Devices. You are responsible for obtaining and maintaining the compatible Devices necessary for accessing and using our Services.
Eligibility
Leia’s Services are intended only for users who are at least eighteen (18) years old and can enter into legally binding contracts under applicable law. Any registration or access to the Services by anyone under 18 is unauthorized and violates these Terms. If we suspect that you are under 18, we may terminate your account, delete any submitted content, and prohibit you from using the Services. By accessing or using the Services, you represent and warrant that you: (i) are at least 18 years old; (ii) have the legal authority to enter into a binding contract with Leia; (iii) are located in a jurisdiction where participation in the selected competition is legal; and (iv) will comply with these Terms and all applicable laws. Leia reserves the right to request proof of age at any time. If you do not meet these eligibility criteria, you may not access or use the Services, and Leia may suspend or close your account with or without notice.
Account Registration
Certain aspects of the Services may require you to create an account. During registration, you will be asked to provide information, including but not limited to: (i) a unique username and password; (ii) contact details such as your name, phone number, and email address; (iii) payment and billing information; and (iv) any other information requested in the registration form. You may have only one account on the Services, which must be owned and controlled by a single individual.
You are responsible for keeping your account information secure and should not share it with anyone. If you lose control of your password or suspect unauthorized activity on your account, you must notify us immediately. You remain fully liable for any actions taken regarding your account, whether by you or an unauthorized third party.
As the account holder, you are solely responsible for complying with these Terms and entitled to all associated benefits. You may not allow anyone else to: (i) access or use your account; (ii) use the Services through your account; or (iii) claim prizes from your account. Except as legally required, your account and any prizes won are not transferable to any other person or account.
We reserve the right to verify your registration details, including name, address, age, and payment methods, at any time. This may involve requesting copies of identification, proof of address, or proof of payment method, which may need to be notarized. If you fail to comply with such requests, Leia may terminate your account and withhold any funds associated with it.
You agree to: (i) promptly update your registration information to keep it accurate; (ii) provide additional information as needed to prevent illegal and fraudulent activities; and (iii) comply with any additional policies we may implement. All information you provide must be truthful, accurate, and verifiable, and by providing such information, you consent to us submitting it to third-party age verification and identification services.
We may investigate your account and registration information at any time, including conducting background and credit checks, to ensure compliance with these Terms and prevent illegal activity. By registering and using the Services, you consent to such investigations. If we find that your account has been involved in illegal or improper conduct, we reserve the right to terminate it without notice or liability.
To encourage user success in our games, we may publish data about the most successful users and winners of cash competitions at our discretion and as required by law. Such statistics may vary by user category and will be visible to all users of the game.
Compliance with laws
You acknowledge that your participation in competitions may be governed by various laws, regulations, and rules related to sweepstakes, contests, and tournaments with entry fees and prizes ("Gaming Laws"). These laws vary by state, country, territory, or jurisdiction. Consequently, we do not offer Cash Competitions to users in any jurisdictions where such competitions violate applicable Gaming Laws which are Zimbabwe, Iran, Iraq, North Korea, Somalia, Vietnam, Burundi, Central African Republic, Ivory Coast, Liberia, Libya, Sudan, Cuba, Syria, Afghanistan, Yemen, Palestine, Myanmar, Nicaragua, Congo Republic, Crimea, Democratic Republic of Congo, Eritrea, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Papua New Guinea, South Sudan, Vanuatu, Venezuela, Algeria, Russia, Kenya and Ghana ("Prohibited Jurisdictions"). If you are located in a Prohibited Jurisdiction, you may not participate in Cash Competitions.
We reserve the right to add additional Prohibited Jurisdictions at our discretion, and these jurisdictions may change over time. Leia also has the right to monitor your location when accessing the Services and has implemented technical measures to block access from users in Prohibited Jurisdictions.
You are solely responsible for ensuring your compliance with all applicable laws. Participation in competitions may be illegal for some or all residents of certain jurisdictions. The Services and competitions are void where prohibited or restricted by law. Your participation is at your own risk, and you agree not to hold us liable if your jurisdiction's laws limit or prohibit your access to or participation in the Services. We make no representations or warranties regarding the legality of your participation, and no one affiliated with us has the authority to make such representations. We reserve the right to monitor your access location and may block access from any Prohibited Jurisdiction.
User generated content
The Services allow users to upload, post, transmit, or share content ("User Content"). This User Content may be used to create additional content, either individually or collaboratively with other users. User Content, which may include Leia’s proprietary materials, is not verified or endorsed by us. The views expressed by users do not necessarily reflect our opinions or values. To utilize features that allow for uploading or transmitting User Content, you must adhere to the guidelines set forth in these Terms. By uploading or sharing any User Content, you represent and warrant that you have the necessary rights to do so and grant Leia a royalty-free, sublicensable, transferable, perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive, worldwide license to use, host, store, reproduce, modify, adapt, edit, translate, distribute, publicly perform, publicly display, and create derivative works from your User Content, including any name, voice, image, or likeness contained therein. This license applies in any form or medium, now known or developed in the future, for use in connection with the Services and Leia’s business. Leia reserves the right, but not the obligation, to remove, edit, or refuse to transmit any User Content to enforce these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion.
Prohibited uses
You may use the Services only for lawful purposes and are solely responsible for all activities associated with your use of the Services. You may not (and shall not allow any third party to) take any action, upload, submit, post, or distribute any content (including User Content) that: (i) is illegal, violent, threatening, abusive, invasive of privacy, harassing, defamatory, misleading, fraudulent, obscene, offensive, pornographic, or otherwise inappropriate as determined by Leia; (ii) infringes or violates any intellectual property or proprietary rights of others; (iii) violates any rights of publicity or privacy, or any laws or contractual obligations, including data protection and anti-spam laws; (iv) involves unauthorized commercial activity; (v) contains harmful software or malicious code; (vi) uses automated systems (e.g., bots, scrapers) that access the Services in a way that exceeds reasonable human usage; (vii) impersonates any individual or entity, including Leia employees; or (viii) alters or obscures any copyright or proprietary notices. You represent and warrant that you will not engage in any activity that interrupts or attempts to interrupt the operation of the Services. Engaging in unfair participation methods, including but not limited to: (i) opening multiple accounts; (ii) using unauthorized software; (iii) intentionally poor gameplay for competitive advantage; (iv) collusion with other players; (v) transferring money between accounts; (vi) harassing participants; (vii) posting inappropriate material; or (viii) any other act that unfairly affects your chances of winning or constitutes fraud ("Abuse") will result in immediate sanctions at our discretion. Sanctions may include: (i) termination of your account and blocking access to the Services; (ii) voiding of any prizes you may have earned; and (iii) recoupment of prizes already awarded. We reserve the right to report any suspected illegal activity to law enforcement authorities. Any attempt to damage the Services or undermine the legitimate operation of competitions may result in criminal and civil penalties, and Leia reserves the right to seek full damages as permitted by law. You acknowledge that forfeiting and returning any prize due to violations of these Terms does not prevent Leia from pursuing legal action for any Abuse.
Third party services
The Services may contain links to third-party websites, applications, services, products, or other offerings ("Third-Party Services") that are not owned or controlled by us. These links are provided for your convenience and do not imply endorsement or liability by Leia for the content, products, or services offered by such Third-Party Services. Your use of these Third-Party Services is at your own risk and is subject to the terms governing those services. You acknowledge that Leia is not liable, directly or indirectly, for your use of Third-Party Services. Any issues or complaints regarding Third-Party Services should be directed to the respective third parties. Please note that any data you provide when accessing these links is governed by the third party’s terms of service and privacy policy, not by our Terms or Privacy Policy. We assume no responsibility for the content, safety, privacy, or security of any Third-Party Services, and you agree to hold us harmless from any losses or damages incurred as a result of your use of such services.
Limitation of liability
By using the Services, you understand and agree that Leia’s liability related to your use of the Services is limited as outlined below. Under no circumstances will Leia, its parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, or their respective directors, officers, employees, agents, successors, or assigns (collectively, the "Leia Entities") be liable to you or any other party for any losses or damages of any kind (including, but not limited to, special, direct, indirect, incidental, exemplary, economic, punitive, or consequential damages) arising from: (i) the Website, the Services, or your uploaded information; (ii) your use of, inability to use, or the performance of the Services; (iii) any investigations by Leia or law enforcement regarding your use of the Services; or (iv) any technical errors, omissions, or defects in the Services, even if such damages were foreseeable or if the Leia Entities were advised of the potential for such damages, whether in contract, negligence, or strict liability. The Leia Entities are not liable for any loss or injury, including death or personal injury, resulting from your use of the Services. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages; therefore, the above limitations may not apply to you. In such cases, our liability will be limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
In no event will the total liability of the Leia Entities to you or any third parties for all damages, losses, or causes of action exceed one hundred U.S. Dollars ($100). The Leia Entities are not responsible for any damage to your or any third party’s computer, hardware, software, or other technology, including damages from security breaches or viruses. If you are dissatisfied with any of the Services, your sole remedy is to stop using them. You acknowledge that any damages arising from Leia’s actions or omissions are not irreparable and do not entitle you to injunctive relief against the use of any Services or properties owned by the Leia Entities.
Disclaimer of warranties
You acknowledge that you assume full responsibility for your use of the Services and any User Content you upload or share. Your use of the Services is at your own risk, and any information sent or received may not be secure, potentially allowing unauthorized access. The Services are provided "as is" and "as available," without any warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. While we strive to keep the Services operational, online services may experience disruptions. All information on the platform is subject to change without notice. Leia is not responsible for the games you play or for your Device, including any communication errors or technical issues that may result in losses during competitions. We do not guarantee the accuracy of game statistics, the usability of the Services, or the absence of technical errors. Leia does not warrant protection against viruses or malware. We do not guarantee that the Services will be uninterrupted or error-free, nor can we ensure that competitions will be fair or free from cheating. We do not guarantee that using our Services will result in any profits. We are not responsible for any losses to your account. Some jurisdictions may limit or not allow the disclaimer of implied warranties, so these disclaimers may not apply to you. In such cases, Leia's liability will be limited to the fullest extent permitted by law. Additional disclaimers may also be present within the Services and are incorporated by reference. If any such disclaimers impose stricter limitations on your use of the Services or content, those restrictions will apply. This limitation of liability applies to both third-party claims and claims between the parties. If applicable law does not allow any part of the above limitations to apply, they will apply only to the extent permitted by law.
Leia's Intellectual property rights
All titles, ownership, and intellectual property rights related to the Apps, Website, images, text, graphics, illustrations, trademarks, brands, service marks, trade dress, copyrights, photographs, audio, videos, music, logos, designs, and Virtual Items (as defined below), among other materials, are the property of Leia or their respective owners. As a user of the Services, you agree not to use, copy, reproduce, publish, or borrow any of this content or trademarked material without explicit permission from Leia or the rightful owner. Except as explicitly stated in these Terms, nothing herein grants you or any other party a license to any intellectual property rights, and you agree not to sell, license, rent, modify, distribute, copy, reproduce, transmit, publicly display, publicly perform, publish, adapt, edit, or create derivative works from any materials or content accessed through the Services.
You may choose to submit comments or feedback about the Services, including suggestions for improvement ("Feedback"). You understand that your Feedback is unsolicited and does not create any obligation for Leia. By submitting Feedback, you represent and warrant that: (i) you have the right to disclose it; (ii) it does not violate the rights of any third party; and (iii) it does not contain confidential or proprietary information. By providing Feedback, you also: (i) agree that we are not obligated to keep it confidential; (ii) acknowledge that we may already be developing similar ideas; (iii) grant us an irrevocable, non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, worldwide license to use, modify, create derivative works, publish, distribute, and sublicense the Feedback; and (iv) waive any claims of moral rights related to the Feedback. This section on Feedback will survive any termination of your account or the Services.
Except as expressly provided herein, no rights or licenses are granted to any intellectual property, and your use of the Services does not imply any rights to use them in combination with other information or products.
License to use the services
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, limited, non-transferable, non-assignable, and non-sublicensable license to install and access the Services on a Device owned or controlled by you, solely for the purpose of accessing and using the Services in accordance with these Terms. You may not network the software among devices. You may not, directly or indirectly, or authorize any person or entity to: (i) reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or create attempts to create the source code of the Services; (ii) create derivative works from the Services; (iii) use the Services for any purpose other than as expressly provided herein; or (iv) disable or circumvent any access control or related process established for the Services. You are responsible for all use of the Services conducted under your account.
Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Leia, its affiliates, officers, directors, agents, partners, and employees from any loss, damage, claim, liability, or expense, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising from your use of or access to the Services. This includes, but is not limited to: (i) any data or content you transmit or receive; (ii) violations of these Terms, including breaches of any representations and warranties; (iii) violations of any third-party rights, including privacy, publicity, or intellectual property rights; (iv) violations of any applicable laws or regulations; (v) claims or damages arising from your user submissions or other content submitted via your account; (vi) any access or use of the Services by another party using your username, password, or other security credentials; or (vii) any third-party claims related to your use of the Services.
Term and termination
Leia reserves the right to modify, suspend, discontinue, or terminate the Services, temporarily or permanently, at any time and without notice. You agree that Leia shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuance of the Services. We do not guarantee the availability of the Services at all times or for any specific duration. We may update or change the Services without prior notice. We make no warranties regarding the availability of the Services and reserve the right to modify or discontinue them at our discretion without notice, including ceasing competitions or other Services for technical reasons or to enhance user experience. YOU ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREE THAT THE SERVICES MAY BE TERMINATED IN WHOLE OR IN PART AT OUR SOLE DISCRETION WITHOUT NOTICE, AND YOU ASSUME ALL RISK OF LOSS ASSOCIATED WITH SUCH TERMINATION.
These Terms are effective from the date you accept them as outlined herein. You may terminate your Leia account at any time for any reason by sending a support request to Hello@leia.games or by following the instructions on the Website or Apps. Upon account termination, you must immediately stop using the Services, and all licenses and rights granted to you under these Terms will automatically terminate. Leia may permanently or temporarily terminate, suspend, or refuse your access to the Services without notice and liability for any violation of these Terms. Upon termination for any reason, your right to use the Services will cease immediately, but you will remain bound by these Terms.
Governing law
Any legal relations established by these Terms or related to them, as well as any related on-contractual legal relations, shall be governed by the laws of the republic of Cyprus. Any dispute that may arise in connection with these Terms and/or related agreements will fall within the jurisdiction of the courts of Nicosia, Cyprus.
Modification of terms or services
We reserve the right to amend or replace any part of these Terms and any documents referenced herein at our discretion and without prior notice. You agree that we may notify you of any updated or new Terms by posting a notice on the Services, making it accessible via a link from the homepage, or by sending you an email to the address associated with your account. Survival
Any terms and conditions within these Terms that naturally survive the termination of your account will continue to be in effect.
